AAGOMONI-Where you are serving others
A collection of rare thoughts is nothing less than a collection of intellectual gems. This was once again proved by an initiative taken by the ´Bibsians´. Chetana the social-service club of BIBS, has diversified and evoked the spirit of those lives that are under crisis. History has repeated itself again with the success of ´AAGHAZ´.
It's not the events of our lives that shape us, but our beliefs, as to what those events mean. AAGOMONI –where u r serving others, was an event organized by ´Bibsians´ (Chetana-a bibs community connect). It has made a sacred beginning by exhibiting some unique creativity in the form of greeting cards, mats, handmade articles etc. We as a team-----the organizers, coordinators and other members did an incredible job! It has been a delightful experience, to transport ourselves into the spirit of the past, see how people have thought before us, and to what glorious heights we have eventually reached.
The day of the event was very special for us as it was on the eve of ´MAHALAYA´. It was the enthusiasm of students, huge support of professors as well as all the members which made it possible. This time the exhibition was taken to the next level by organizing a live campaign with students dressed up in the costumes of ´MAA DURGA´ & ´MAHISASUR´. We also had ´dhaak´ and the sound of dhaak changed the ambience altogether. Aagomoni created a positive attitude which caused a chain reaction of positive thoughts, events and outcomes. It has acted as a catalyst and sparked extraordinary results.
"There are no mistakes, no coincidences. All events of "Chetana" are blessings given to us to learn from." – Team Chetana
5. BIBS Students participating in TOTAL Quartz Safety Run on 4th November 2012
The team of area sales managers of TOTAL Lubricants was at BIBS campus on 10th October, 2012. TOTAL Lubricants and Bengal Institute of Business Studies share a long relationship, built on mutual interests. The trust that the organization has on the institute can be gauged by the number of final placements that TOTAL has offered to the students of BIBS, year after year.
The corporate guests arriving at BIBS campus to interact with the students is nothing new, however, the purpose was little different this time. TOTAL Lubricants is organizing a pan India run for safety campaign named as TOTAL Quartz Safety Run on 4th November 2012. They were in the campus to create awareness about the same and encourage students to participate. As a corporate social responsibility, the organization is doing it in order to underline the importance of road safety practices in the minds of everyone. In Kolkata for the event, the initial and final points have been decided to be Gariahat and E.M.Bypass, covering a distance of 4 kms.
While interacting with the students, they initiated the presentation by giving a brief about the company. In the very beginning of the presentation, they mentioned that TOTAL Lubricants has a global presence in more than 130 countries. It is the world’s fifth largest oil and gas company. In South Asia, the firm has a widespread network of manufacturing and delivery units. They particularly mentioned that the offerings, however, vary from country to country depending upon demand and governmental norms in respective countries. In India, it enjoys close to 10% market share with its range of lubricants, LPG and special fluids.
They showed several videos that can actually make a person sit and think about road safety. For the noble initiative, the company has tied up with Big FM so as to maximize its reach. Sambad Pratidin is also on board with TOTAL Lubricants as its print media partner. While drawing a conclusion, they encouraged every student to join the run on 4th November at 7.30 am. They also distributed pamphlets and leaflets among us so that we can have a detailed info about the event. While wrapping up, on a lighter note, he added, "besides running for road safety, it will definitely burn some calories as well".
"I can’t wait for the 4th November to arrive as this will be an opportunity to run a marathon, something which I have not done for too long" – Abhishek Debnath, MBA 2012 – 14
"It’s a chance to be a part of corporate event in spite of not being a part of the organization, very interesting concept. I will definitely be there on Sunday morning" – Soumak Kr. Ghosh, MBA 2012 - 14
