Key Challenges
? Reduce the Attrition rate and retain talented workforce
? Redesigning salary structure and incentive schemes. ? Break the shackles of traditional HR practices and play
a strategic role in the organization
Supporting Evidence
? The line manager seemed to be frustrated with the high attrition
of young employees in his group. 3 out of 8 people in his group had left in the last six months for higher education.
? The elitist salary structure also is a cause of concern. HR has to
talk with the management to have a flatter salary structure. Incentive of Rs 1200 and 750 per month may not motivate the technical employees.
? The HR needs to automate its existing processes so as to become
an employee champion. HR also needs to enhance downward communication.
Recommendations
? Scholarships to be awarded to talented young employees who wish to
pursue higher education.
? HR should test the commitment level of individuals while recruiting
them.
? HR should be prepared with training programs for recruits from non-
conventional colleges to bring them to the company’s standard.
? Bringing in competitive workforce and develop a competitive
environment.
? As these people will have to be recruited at higher salary ,HR can
redesign the overall salary structure over a period of time.
Continued…
? HR can take a employee survey for designing an effective incentive
scheme.
? The existing HR processes should be automated ? HR has to improve upon its downward communication . ? HR should create a conducive environment to facilitate a Psychological
Contract between employees and organization.
Learnings
? Project has given us a bird’s-eye view of HR practices in the
orgnization.
? It helped us to understand a present gap between theoretical and
actual HR practices.
? We got a gist of ideology of an organization behind implementing HR
practices.
? We learnt different perspectives of looking at HR department and how
HR cops up with these diversities.
