Asian indices traded mixed on early Monday following an uninspiring handover from Wall Street, as Ukraine-Russia tensions reignited and a speech by Federal Reserve Chair Janet Yellen failed to give investors any clues on when the Fed will hike rates.

China’s Shanghai Composite was down 0.11 percent or 2.48 points at 2,238.33. Hong Kong’s Hang Seng declined 0.23 percent or 89.35 points at 25,022.88.

Japan’s Nikkei rose 0.13 percent or 20.58 points at 15,559.77. Singapore’s Straits Times added 0.23 percent or 7.61 points at 3,333.11.

South Korea’s Seoul Composite was flat at 2,055.20. Taiwan’s Taiwan Weighted was up 0.10 percent or 9.37 points at 9,389.47.
 
Asian equity markets were mixed on Tuesday as tensions over Ukraine took the shine off Wall Street%u2019s overnight gains.

China%u2019s Shanghai Composite was flat at 2,228.22. Hong Kong%u2019s Hang Seng was flat at 25,168.92.

Japan%u2019s Nikkei shed 0.40 percent or 62.02 points at 15,551.23. South Korea%u2019s Seoul Composite was up 0.38 percent or 7.84 points at 2,068.73.

Singapore%u2019s Straits Times was flat at 3,332.45. Taiwan%u2019s Taiwan Weighted was flat at 9,397.21.
 
Asian equity markets rose on Wednesday after the S&P 500 index closed above the 2,000 mark for the first time ever.

China%u2019s Shanghai Composite was up 0.20 percent or 4.45 points at 2,211.55. Hong Kong%u2019s Hang Seng added 0.08 percent or 18.85 points at 25,093.35.

Japan%u2019s Nikkei was flat at 15,528.97. Singapore%u2019s Straits Times jumped 0.34 percent or 11.25 points at 3,334.27.

South Korea%u2019s Seoul Composite added 0.55 percent or 11.42 points at 2,079.47. Taiwan%u2019s Taiwan Weighted rose 0.64 percent or 60 points at 9,453.96.
