Asian equity markets kicked off the week mixed as traders brace for a week full of event risk.

China’s Shanghai Composite added 0.55 percent or 11.17 points at 2,047.57. Hong Kong’s Hang Seng rose 0.35 percent or 80.39 points at 23,301.91.

Japan’s Nikkei was down 0.17 percent or 26.30 points at 15,068.70. Singapore’s Straits Times shed 0.25 percent or 8.20 points at 3,262.85.

South Korea’s Seoul Composite rose 0.42 percent or 8.37 points at 1,996.88. Taiwan’s Taiwan Weighted gained 0.63 percent or 58.29 points at 9,365.12.
 
Asian stocks were mixed on Tuesday as investors reacted to key factory activity data from the mainland while metal stocks rallied on the back of higher copper and gold prices.

China%u2019s Shanghai Composite was flat at 2,047.86. Japan%u2019s Nikkei gained 1.29 percent or 195.15 points at 15,358.25.

Singapore%u2019s Straits Times shed 0.41 percent or 13.34 points at 3,242.33. South Korea%u2019s Seoul Composite was down 0.24 percent or 4.72 points at 1,997.49.

Taiwan%u2019s Taiwan Weighted added 0.44 percent or 40.88 points at 9,433.95. Hong Kong%u2019s Hang Seng shut today.
 
Asian equity markets were mostly higher on Wednesday following record gains on Wall Street overnight.

Hong Kong%u2019s Hang Seng jumped 0.65 percent or 151.79 points at 23,342.51. Japan%u2019s Nikkei added 0.53 percent or 80.54 points at 15,406.74.

Singapore%u2019s Straits Times gained 0.41 percent or 13.41 points at 3,256.05. South Korea%u2019s Seoul Composite advanced 0.66 percent or 13.14 points at 2,012.14.

Taiwan%u2019s Taiwan Weighted rose 0.82 percent or 77.62 points at 9,519.54. China%u2019s Shanghai Composite was down 0.10 percent or 2.05 points at 2,048.33.
 
Todays Asian Market Update On 3/7/2014



Indian ADRs ended higher on Wednesday.
In the banking space, ICICI Bank was up 0.32 percent at USD 50.14.
HDFC Bank gained 2.11 percent at USD 49.43.
Among the IT name, Infosys shed 0.19 percent at USD 53.65.
Wipro rose 1 percent at USD 12.14.
In the other sectors, Tata Motors jumped 1.68 percent at USD 41.15.
Dr Reddy%u2019s Laboratories added 0.92 percent at USD 43.99.
