Mumbai, 22th January, 2015: Arena Animation, a leading animation institution of India, announced the successful conclusion of Orbit Live 2016. The four-day International Animation Festival saw the students let their creative juices flow. The event saw a confluence of international and Indian industry experts from top animation, visual effects and digital media studios and more than 300 Arena students who attended the event.

The event began with the keynote address by Max Howard, founder, Max Howard Consulting Group, USA on 'The Art of Storytelling'. Speaking to the students on the importance of the storyline during his keynote speech, he said, "The biggest advice that I can give to students is to be as honest to the story line as a dishonest story reflects through the script and no technology can ever replace human sentiment. The other most important lesson is to have an open mind; as inspiration can be received from the most unlikely sources. "

Elucidating on the Indian animation industry, he said, "This workshop has been an eye opener in terms of the potential of the Arena Animation students. The animation fraternity is very excited about the development that is being made in the Indian animation landscape. The industry is expecting the next big project to be from these talented students."

The event witnessed over 25 practical workshops, master classes and interactive sessions on acting for animation, timing for animation, film editing and film language, animation for games, architecture, art & performance, animation film-making, posing and staging for animation, VFX pipeline - from acquisition to rendering films, 3D character and creature modelling, VFX Design and pre-visualisation, user interface design, broadcast and motion graphics, etc. These workshops and master-classes were conducted by Indian and international industry luminaries. Arena students had the golden opportunity to undergo intense interactions with industry practitioners at workshops and get a chance to work on live industry projects. To add to the celebration of films, the best animation films from the global animation festivals ITFS, Germany & ANIMAYO, Spain were displayed during breakfast, in a special screening called 'Breakfast Shorts'.

"At Orbit Live, the students are given a chance to not only understand the specifics of the best animation works but also interact personally with animation experts and learn from their experiences. With the presence of some brilliant people from the industry in this year's festival, we have taken the festival to another level. Students attend workshops, seminars and master classes conducted by industry experts from national and international studios," said Mr. Anuj Kacker, Executive Director, Aptech Ltd., while delivering the welcome address.

During the festival, the participants got the opportunity to personally interact with international festival luminaries such as Max Howard, Max Howard Consulting Group, Raul Garcia, CEO of Melon Digital S.L. & Director-Producer of R&R Communications Inc., Rebecca Melander, Global Head of Texturing, MPC London (UK), Deron Hoffmeyer, Senior Flame artist, Method Studios, Atlanta (USA); Damian Perea, Producer & Festival Director, Animayo Festival (SPAIN), Penny Holton & Dr. Paul Noble, Teesside University (UK), Prof. Ulrich Wegenast, ITFS Festival Director (Germany), Rafael Zabala, Lead Modeler, Psyop Productions (USA), Jason Gagnon, LookDev TD, MPC London (UK) to name a few.
