i cant say boput others but if mr.Vijay Mallaya... a little of his style n taste into air deccan.. he can change d complete look of it...

Another Airline joined the fray.Paramount Airlines has placed a bid for low cast carrier GoAir.If the deal is successful, then it cud put an end to the fare war.

Then India will have 5-6 major airlines that have both business class and also low cost carrier. Moreover,LCC will also have capital base to serve the community better.

yes the current aviation industry is changing with all M and As happening around.first air India and Indian airlines, then jet takes over sahara and now kingfisher takes stake in Deccan .also paramount is showing interest in GoAir though goair is not willing to sell its stake.with all the major player involved in some kind of merger, vijay mallaya announcing that the fairs of air deccan will increase and the industry is trying to come out of losses it has accrued in pursuit of market share i feel that aviation industry is undergoing major changes.i see a more regulated market with healthy competition and total customer satisfaction ahead.

yes airlines are reallly changing fast
with the mergers and acquisitions
and soon v may expect some more
spice jet still looking for a partner
and private players r getting approval
frm different coutries to operate

In today’s scenario, the arena of airlines is not limited only domestic rather they are moving out of their home country with international connectivity and expansion plans. Jet Airways foray into international market has changed the way Indian carrier has been perceived by non-ethnics.

Today, airlines is not only price sensitive but has moved a step forward by providing friendly customer experience leading to loyal base of customers with the airline. Though the entry of LCC would have changed the scenario by introducing lower fares but their venture was to uplift the lifestyle of rail travelers in affluent families to commute via air and save time and cost. Also, with high disposable income and affordability factor, today’s consumers would not mind to shelve more money to travel by air.

People who are successful always lead rather than lag and thats what Mr Mallaya does. Hes changed the outlook to quite an extent and I hope a lot still will change for the better for all

There is no denying that airlines must transform their business. The imperatives of energy costs and emissions reduction, global security concerns, new business models, low-cost airlines, online transactions, the ‘always-on’ approach to life – all these elements are requiring airlines to radically alter the way they manage.

Many have already moved to new ways of doing business but others are not there yet. For example, although many airlines have embraced the IATA initiative of 100 percent e-ticketing by 2007 with open arms, it is creating a real challenge for some airlines.

There are many other ways the industry is changing. More and more services are being demanded – and offered by third parties – online. Passengers want to take control of processes and be given self-service options, whether choosing their flight, checking-in their bags or selecting their seat. In addition, new channels such as mobile phones are becoming increasingly popular and passengers are looking for services to be provided this way too.
