Aparna speaks about her institute as an alumni



Q1. Tell us something about yourself?

Ans: I am Aparna did my BSC in Biochemistry Bhakbatsalam Memorial College in Chennai. I worked for a year in Infosys. Then resigned and did my MBA from Velammal College of Management by doing dual specialiazation in HR and Marketing. Now I am working in Cognizant in HR operations.

Q2. What is so special about your institute?

Ans: For me the special thing of institute was it had a brand name in Chennai. I really made lots of friends and a very knowledgeable faculty. The most special due to the e-cell my facebook friends from 50 went to 200.

Q3. Share some of the things you did in your institute?

Ans: The best thing that I enjoyed was orgainizing NEN activities. There used to be a E-week. Once in the E-wee there was en event organized for special team of young India award to special people. There was a person who with his legs was running a shop of mobile repairing as he has no hands. A physically challenged lady training people on soft skills. Once we were divided into a group of four and take a product like sandwiches and sell it and make profits.

Q4. Is the name of the institute from where you do your MBA is important when you enter the corporate world?

Ans: Yes it is very important according to me. As in Corporate your institute name is considered important for them.

Q5. Describe life at Velammal in short?

Ans: Our institute was strict for us it was more of a school then college. Our fun was in the class we had our fun only in classes. Our lectures used to start from 8.30 and go on till 4.00. We were always kept busy with various conferences, NEN events and also there a social welfare program done by the institute.
