I would like to draw your attention to an exciting business plan competition that we run, in association with Berkeley, Columbia, and London business schools:
Global Social Venture Competition (GSVC) 2011
Calling all profit-making ideas that have high social impact
GSVC is a business plan competition whose mission is to promote entrepreneurial businesses that satisfy two criteria:

The Indian School of Business (ISB) as the Asia – Africa Partner is responsible for promoting the GSVC in India, China, Bangladesh, Sri Lanka, Pakistan, UAE, Southern and Eastern Africa.
Eligibility:
· Teams must have at least one person currently pursuing a full time MBA programme or an alumnus who has graduated in 2009 or 2010
· Team size minimum 3, maximum 5
· Existing social ventures that are less than three years old can apply as long as the above 2 criteria are satisfied
Important dates:
1. November 10, 2010: Submission of executive summary to ISB at [email protected]. This is optional, teams sending in executive summaries will be provided feedback & mentorship
2. December 27, 2010: Submission of Final Business Plans to ISB at [email protected]
3. January 8, 2011: Initial judging round at ISB
4. March 3 - 6, 2011: GSVC Asia - Africa Regional Finals at ISB
5. April 7 - 9, 2011: Global Finals at Haas, Berkeley
Note:
We would recommend that teams can register along with a five-page executive summary by November 10, 2010 to take advantage of mentoring support.
Last date for submission of full business plan is December 27, 2010.

- f[/b]inancially sustainable, in the sense that they are profitable or self-supporting through revenue generation.[/b][/b]
