Dr. Udai Pareek the Father Figure in HRD or the "Bhishma Pitamaha" of HRD is no more. He contributed a lot to the field of Organizational Behavior and HRD. He was instrumental in L&T setting up the First dedicated department of HRD in India and perhaps the entire world. He had strong roots in research methods, philosophy, and psychology in terms of his education. He worked in various filed like Basic Education, Agricultural Extension, Small Industry Development, Entrepreneurship, OD, Applied BS,T-Groups, etc. His contributions to the concept of Extension Motivation as the source of development in India, Role Efficacy and HRD are internationally cited. He is very good and pious human being. Even in his death by donating his body to a medical college for research and asking people to remember him by kind words and deeds to others he showed the meaning of a good human being.
We miss him and the best tribute we can pay to him is by being good to each other. As Rolf Lynton puts while we share the sorrow with his family we celebrate his accomplishments and contributions and feel proud as an Indian, as HR professional and show way to others.
