Anupam Krishna is Assistant Professor in Tapmi School of Business, School of Management, Manipal University Jaipur. He has graduate in Mechanical engineering from RGPV, Bhopal. Anupam Krishna has done PhD from Department of Management Studies, Malaviya National Institute of Technology, Jaipur, India. His areas of interest are Service operations management, service failures and recovery, complaint management etc. He has 9 years of experience in teaching to UG and PG level courses. He has around 30 publications in reputed National and International journals. He was awarded winner of research proposal by emerald publication house for, 2011. He has ability conducted MDP and training program in “low cost marketing” and “decision making”. He is keenly interested to do consultancy and projects in area of “Complain Management”, “Service Failure Recovery” and “Co-Creation Process”. He has delivered several Invited Lectures in India.

· When did you join teaching profession? Why did you choose to be a professor?
I have a great passion for teaching. Moreover I think that this can be one of the best way to repay the society and build nation.
· What about teaching at b-schools inspires you the most?
There are lot of unique challenges that come with joining significant path of professor. There are chances of meeting people around globe. We get to meet and learn about people who come from every type of background, which gives healthy appreciations for the challenges.
· Which subjects do you teach? Which ones do you like the most?
Marketing management, Strategic Management, Marketing of Services and Consumer behavior. I like , Marketing of Services the most.
· What is your teaching philosophy?
My Philosophy on teaching based on the building block- Students learn best when they enjoy to learn. Train the students to be an independent learner, to promote team work. One can create a positive and enjoyable learning environment. Once the students feel you do care about them and they enjoy being in your class, suddenly you will find that they can learn much more effectively.[/i]
· Do you believe teaching should be more application based than theory? If yes, then how do you support it?
yes, I do agree….application based teaching encourage activity, clear viewpoints and concepts, provides better performance and satisfaction. Also provides opportunities for frequent learning. It will also encourage active and discover independent learning as well as develop team working and promote discussions and students gain knowledge to way the things are done around.
· Who in your life has influenced you the most?
Anna Hazare has influenced me most as he has the potential to turn around the corrupted situation in our country.
· What suggestions would you like to make in the course of MBA?
I would like to suggest to Work in Groups: it will allow students to learn interactively, give chance to students to teach each other and through this they can practice skills to professional situation as well as it also helps those students who have difficulty talking in class may speak in groups and this will help to boost confidence.
· As a faculty, what kind of projects do you expect students to work upon?
Practical once that can help society.
· How are current technological advancements changing your teaching style?
Technological Advancements has impact on my teaching style, this helped me to make students collaborating and discussing the topics, project based learning’s is implemented in lectures through which students can efficiently and effectively develop ability to process information very quickly.[/i]
· What is the impact of mobile technologies boom influencing your area of specialization?
Yes mobile has led to a great one to one direct marketing, where the provider can reach individually at low cost with very lesser time.
· How are social networks influencing your discipline?
Through Social networks more of the national as well as international collaboration could me made which helps to extend our sphere of contact and exchange.
· How does the economy story of India change your discipline?
Yes India has made great economical movement and country is growing fast.
· What changes do you see on the horizon in your area of discipline?
Yes we need to go a long way. The marketing needs to be made low cost and individual centric.
· One touching incident that happened with you in your teaching career?
One of my students became the ceo of a very reputed company. This Diwali he came to wish me and the respect and gratitude he has shown was heart touching. This respect very few professionals can gain.
· There is a shortage of eminent professors at b-schools. With more and more institutes offering the MBA course, do you think MBA will become just another degree?
No MBA would be always in need. This course certainly helps one to learn managerial skills.
· Do you think the course curriculum is at par with industry expectations?
No the syllabus is not at par with industry, It needs to have more practical aspects. It should have more skills with it.
· If you hadn’t been a professor, what would you be? What are your professional/career goals?
If I would not have been a professor than, I would have been a marketing/ strategic management consultant.
My goals are to do various MDP, FDP, projects and consultancy work
· What message would you like to give to students across the globe?
You should aims at creating a domain in which future managers and entrepreneur continually deepen their understanding of self and acquire the ability to make a more meaningful contribution in the unfolding of the world. Ultimately, we survive and grow by creating new realities. whatyou harvest in life, only and exactly what you sow in your minds. Therefore work at influencing, shaping, guiding and polishing your-self to serve the interests of your economy. Your openness to environment and willingness to toil to tap the vast potential of human mind is our strength.
