An Individual’s foremost duty is to his/her nation
“. . . Along with speedy development aimed at elimination of poverty and unemployment, national security has to be recognized by every Indian as a national priority. Indeed, making India strong and self-reliant – economically, socially and militarily – is our foremost duty to our motherland and to us and to our future generations.” This quote echoes Kalam’s sustained efforts to motivate the young, which he has so eloquently set down in his book Ignited Minds.
A Citizen who always gets confused differentiates duty and foremost duty. I believe that duty is nothing but paying tax e.g.: income tax, water tax, sales tax etc., and foremost duty is First taking care of parents in order to serving society. What is Family? Family is a basic and universal unit of human society. It performs functions that are necessary for the continuity, integration and development of social life. What is the need to be serving society? In India over 10,000 people die by hunger per day, over 40 lakh people by every year. Average salary of the Indian citizen is $1000 per Annum.
What is a need to spend money anyway I am paying my tax properly and it is a government duty not mines? I accept that it is a government duty. If example you take a situation of Tsunami first helper’s is NGO’s after only government started its work. So makeup mind for helping society. I start serving nation mean what is government part of serving nation? Government taking care development of whole country. And try to fulfil basic needs of nation and sharing resources to their citizens and try to make public resources. Why India always in a developing country? India have lot of resources, Hear no meaning of ethical activity for paying wages, not care about agriculture people, no one try to serve our nation poor people .So “Rich get richer and poor get poorer” . And another one fact is population
I always believe this Quote written by saintly poet Kabir’s wisdom to us: “Kal kare so aaj kar, aaj kare so ab”.That means, “What you want to do tomorrow do it today, and what you want to do today, do it now”.
How can I help for nation? Taking care of schools and fulfil the neioubours needs. Allocating part of your budget for orphanages homes. It is for middle class families.
“Single drop is a first step of water fall; Single plant is a first step of forest”
So try to makeup mind help for nation. Participate the groups of NGO’s or making a NGO.
Finally conclude that foremost duty is first caring family, because family is the natural and fundamental group unit of society and is entitled to protection by society and the State.
