According to Head of Department Dr. Sudhir K. Jain, “Ideal MBAs are those who have a sharp mind and high reaction ability and are well aware about what is going on around the world.”

During the recently conducted MBA workshop on CAT, Dr. Jain also clarified on the myth that the DMS of IITs are not just meant for engineers.

“Students of Architecture, Pharmacy, Agriculture Engineering graduates or Masters in Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics, Statistics, Computer Application, Electronic Science, Environmental Science, Operations Research, Computational or Information Science, Agriculture, Commerce, Economics, CA or ICWA have also bright chances of making to the DMSs of IITs,” Dr. Jain said.

While talking about the scrapping of JMET and switching over to CAT for admissions 2012 and beyond Dr. Jain said, “Traditionally IITs used to admit the students through JMET and now the exam has been abolished. IIT Bombay and Delhi initiated the JMET exam. It was mainly meant for engineers who wanted to do MBA. We did not advertise it much and the GATE circulars were circulated only in the engineering colleges due to which we missed out a lot of talented candidates. Then we also realized that we were wasting lot of time and money in conducting JMET. So we decided to join CAT 2011.”
