Ahmedabad-based industrialist Rajiv Vastupal joins IIM Udaipur board
One of the few businessmen from Gujarat to achieve this distinction [/b]
Ahmedabad, 3rd December, 2015: Mr. Rajiv Vastupal, Chairman & Managing Director of Ahmedabad-based Group Company named Team Rajiv & Chairman of FICCI Gujarat State council has joined the board of governors of the Indian Institute of Management Udaipur (IIM-U).
Mr. Vastupal received an invitation to join the Society and Board of Governors of IIM Udaipur from the Ministry of Human Resource Development, Government of India. Prior to his appointment at IIM Udaipur, he was member of the Board of Governors at IIM, Bangalore & IIM, Rohtak.
Mr. Rajiv Bajaj, Managing Director, Bajaj Auto Ltd; Mr. Arjun Malhotra, Chairman & CEO, Techspan Inc, USA; Prof. A P Singh, Vice Chancellor, Central University of Rajasthan are amongst the other members of the board.
Speaking about his new appointment, Mr Rajiv Vastupal, CMD of Team Rajiv said, "I am extremely happy to be a part of the prestigious IIM Udaipur. I shall focus on working cohesively with dynamic personalities like Mr. Rajiv Bajaj and other members of the board to take the institute to even greater heights."
A first generation entrepreneur, Rajiv Vastupal has over the last 3 decades set up Rajiv Group from scratch. The multi-crore diversified Team Rajiv is a leading player in polymers, woven sack bags & fabrics, electrical cables & switchgears, light fittings & panel boards.
Apart from being a very successful businessman, Rajiv has been very active in contributing to society and social causes from an early age. In the year 1993, he formed a charitable trust as well as becoming chairman and managing trustee in various family trusts. He is a Trustee of the 111 years old Homeopathic Trust in Ahmedabad, he has been there since 1986 onwards. Mr. Vastupal has also served as the President of All India Management Association (AIMA) from 2011-2012 and was the President of Ahmedabad Management Association (AMA) from 2005-2007.
