After the Bhopal verdict,Do you have any faith in the judicial system?

June 7,2010 was a day never to forget in the Indian judicial system.Verdict for the Bhopal gas tragedy was given and by any terms it shouldn't be called a verdict.Even petty crimes like Pickpocket could have received a better punishment.Even worse,this verdict was given 26 yrs after the incident.No-one in the country was happy about the judgement and even the legal eagles cite this as a failure in the judicial system. The adage " Justice delayed is justice denied" has certainly proven true in this case.The main culprit didn't appear before the court.Judgement was given in closed doors and noone was allowed to enter the court premises during the judgement time.This is certainly a breach of justice. Ppl are already losing faith in the judicial process since it is taking eons to close a case and with this kind of judgement certainly ppl will never turn to court steps.

Still do you have faith in the judicial system?

As you've rightly said, its a complete failure of Indian judiciary system. For petty crimes, the culprits are locked behind bars almost immediately but with ones that have significant impact on masses, the cases go on for decades.

Rape cases by politicians and army men, Bribes, IPL scam, among others come and go with no verdict for ages.

I think if this continues, even small culprits will get a boost to commit bigger crimes as the system is completely flawed and the rewards are much higher.

I am yet to see a verdict which instills our faith in the judicial system.
"Justice delayed is justice denied" is absolutely right here in this verdict because public already wait for 26 long year time and even no one get punishment as what they did this is really ridiculous for Indian judiciary this is like who have money in pocket law and order is also in pocket

I totally agree with Donald, "Justice delayed is justice denied". It can only be know to them if it is actually borne up by them. Its likely to say that "none other than a person who has suffered knows about the pain or loss".

Judicial system in India has proved itself very slow in actions and this should be more focused.

we are in a country where we cant expect a right judgement at a right time..we live in a sociey which is by the criminals for the criminal..n funy part of it we elect our criminals..!!

It is pretty unfair to say direct 'yes' or direct 'no' to this question;
Our judicial system follows set of priciples taken from various sources before independence. Since then nobody has bothered to update those books or timelines required to dissolve serious cases..

well frnds, i think that its not the flaw of our judiciary system, but flaw is in the government who not only saved the accused anderson but also make a mockery of the 15000 peoples died for such a meagre compensation.its the govrenment who saved him, is this the cost of the life of the peoples living here,or they would have done the same if any politician would have died in it?
