As usual, the whole purpose to remove addons and plugins from Internet Explorer is to make it faster and more performing. In fact, the more you add “junk” to your browser, the more it will become sluggish thus affecting the way you surf the Web or the way websites are displayed.

Open Internet Explorer.

Click the tools button and then Manage Add-ons.

Now, located under Show, select Downloaded controls. This will let you display all the ActiveX controls available on your browser.

Select and click an ActiveX you wish to uninstall from Internet Explorer.

Now, click More Information.

From the More Information window, simply click Remove.

Amazing addon.
I have one suggestion: "Remove" (or sth else) button for selecting elemets to be removed. This makes removing a bit less confusing, because right now you dont know what to remove before hovering over context menu item.

I am having a problem with removal of the addon Internet Download Manager.
After the 30 day trial I tried to remove it and the "uninstall" button was grayed out no matter what I did.
Every time Firefox is started a message window pops up saying the password for IDM was incorrect and a purchase window appears.
Their url is not functioning and I cannot find an email for them.

After some days of frustration I removed all references to IDM from the Registry but the pop ups remain when Firefox is started.
Any ideas how to get rid of IDM completely? I have looked everywhere I can think of.
Its like The Night Of The Living IDM!!
