[/b]Indian Institute of Management Indore, which was established in 1996, is the sixth IIM in the prestigious IIM family of management schools. Situated atop a scenic hillock, the beautiful 193 acre campus provides an ideal backdrop for some of the brightest minds in the country to work their best to become the best they can be. Experiential learning, IT orientation, and social sensitivity are some of the unique features of the flagship programme of the institute.
IIM Indore has always tried to be innovative. IIM Indore was the first to increase the batch size to 450 for its PGP program amongst all IIMs and yet was able to scale up all the infrastructure needs well in time. Today, IIM Indore boasts of the best infrastructure facilities amongst all IIMs right from hostels, to wifi, to sports complex, to fully operational swimming pool.
Introducing the five year integrated programme in management (IPM) is also considered to be a stroke of innovation by the institute. This program is creative and first of its kind and would meet the aspirations of young students to become management professionals, change agents and societal leaders.
The innovation doesn’t end with scaling up and introducing new programs. IIM Indore believes in continuous innovation and over the past few years have tried different things to enhance the learning out of the PGP program. The first year PGP participants are divided into groups of 10 and sent to rural parts of Madhya Pradesh to understand various government policies and get a firsthand experience of rural India so that they can appreciate the learnings in the class. The second year PGP participants are sent to a Himalayan expedition for a week. They are put through difficult situations and students try to implement all their skills to counter them.
While IIM Indore has grown at a rapid pace it has definitely not compromised on quality. Over the past few months IIM Indore has been rated amongst the top five B Schools in India. IIM Indore has been ranked 4th best business schools in India by Business Today and ranked 5th by Hindustan Times.
IIM Indore believes in being a leader than a follower and has hence experimented with different ideas that have largely been successful, a trait that is a sign of any successful organization.
