After a few cancelled flights, andone bumpy ride in, my colleague Joanne Legler and I arrived in New York Cityon Wednesday morning for the Admissions Information Session to be held on Thursdaynight.* Even with the many signs that travel eastward was going to be areal challenge, this event was particularly important to us so we opted to takeour normally short flight to NYC a day early. Round 1 applicants arepreparing to interview and Round 2 will be here shortly and we didn’t want tomiss the opportunity to connect with our prospective students in person!

Even after the devastating effects ofSandy and a Nor'easter on Wednesday that dropped a few inches of snow on thecity, we still had a great showing from prospective students, as well as fromour alumni who share our desire to support those of you investigating businessschools. Our hosts at Barclays were as gracious as ever in making sure thisevent went off without a hitch despite what has not been an easy time for NewYork.* Throughout our time in NYC, we truly felt the city's resolveand positive outlook. It also helps to be*in a beautiful space at Barclayson the 9th floor right in the heart of Times Square where our guests were ableto relax, mingle and learn more about the Chicago Booth community.

There was a great mix of alumspresent from such companies as McKinsey, Boston Consulting Group, GoldmanSachs, Morgan Stanley, and Barclays. We're always so thrilled when we see activeand engaged alumni in a city known for keeping its employees burning themidnight oil!* Taking the time to represent us at Admissions events trulyshows their passion for the Booth experience and community and sharing theirstories with you. Joining Joanne and me from Chicago was Emily Theis from BoothCareer Services. As part of the Employer Development team, helping us hostadmissions events gives Career Services an on the ground view of what careeropportunities prospects are looking for now - and in two to three years fromnow after graduation. Emily was easily one of the most popular people in theroom!

It was great to hear that somany of the attendees had already scheduled their interviews for Round 1 andothers had questions about putting the final touches on their applications forRound 2. If you haven’t been able to attend an Admissions Information Sessionyet this year, you still can in Seoul, Chicago and Vancouver in thecoming days. But better yet, why not visit campus and meet ourcurrent students? It's a great opportunity to sit in on a class, see our campus*andexperience Booth first hand.

After our eventful NYC trip, we arenow back home in Chicago and will spend the next several days reading your applications.I wish everyone the best of luck in the application process and hope you willreach out with any questions you have. And to all of our friends on the EastCoast, we hope for your quick recovery and continued strength.

Best,

Bryce
