When we visited Booth during the traditional weekend for new admits I was moved by the kindness and humility of the Booth community, not to mention their incredible enthusiasm for the school. The excitement of the student volunteers and staff members made Booth seem like a perfect fit, for both of us. He has become part of the Class of 2016, and I have just begun my new journey as Assistant Director of Admissions.

I believe that my status as an MBA partner has provided me with a unique perspective for my role on the admissions team, making the student-facing part of my job significantly easier. I have seen Booth’s values of inquiry and collaboration played out on a daily basis in both my fiancé’s time at Booth and my short time in the Admissions Office. I don’t feel like I need to dance around the topic of the culture here, because I believe in it wholeheartedly. As I see it, you, as a Chicago Booth student, could expect the following:
*
• Rigorous academics that deepen your critical thinking skills and encourage the questioning of* ideas that others have long held to be true
• Curricular flexibility that focuses on each student’s individual academic goals, rather than making them fit within the confines of a structured curriculum
• Extensive networking opportunities that goes far beyond faculty, staff and students
• A community that is committed to paying-it-forward, with alumni and second-year students providing instrumental guidance and mentoring to first-year students
• A culture that is characterized by collaboration, humility and acceptance, and extends to faculty, staff, alumni and even MBA partners
*
I am a true believer in challenging the status quo and taking yourself outside of your comfort zone, a quality that is so omnipresent here at Booth. I have benefitted from the incredible MBA Partners Club, where I have been able to take advantage of a number ways to both network with other partners and get to know Chicago better. Despite having worked for a business school before, I did not anticipate that I would be this integrated into my fiancé’s experience in the way I have here at Booth.

I cannot wait to continue this transformative Booth journey that we have embarked on, and I am excited to work with applicants to Chicago Booth as a recruiter, an evaluator, and the point-person for the waitlist and international student visa process. I look forward to getting to know you better during the admissions process!
