I always thought Master Degree is seen as Post graduation, Bachelor's degree as Under graduation which made me assume that masters and pg being the same. I guess the correct word to make the difference would be masters and pg diploma.

It is kinda complicated, it is absolutely an individuals choice and can not be forced. It certainly needs the interest and should be encouraged only if other studies activities are also fulfilled. If a person is seen extraordinary with his/her abilities, then should be encouraged no matter what.

I believe both are the same, a post graduation is MASTERS DEGREE.
