There is a new twist to the 'India-China, who's better' story. A new report has said that 'Made in India' could be the next big economic story on the Asian horizon. The report, published by Capgemini Consulting Service, said that in the next 3-5 years, India, while retaining its IT hold, could challenge China as the world's manufacturing centre. With World Inc looking at India with a keen eye thanks to its IT prowess and its rising BPO wave, the India success story gets only reinforced. However, red-tapism, infrastructure bottlenecks, unfriendly government policies, not-so-great civic amenities and cheap labour have also seen a lot of companies take flight to China and other south Asian countries. From 'kirpans' to 'pichkaris', Chinese imitation of almost all kinds of Indian goods have invaded Indian drawing rooms, making the 'Made in China' tag a reality. In such a scenario, it remains to be seen whether Made in India can beat its Chinese counterpart or is it mere wishful thinking?
