RTI ACT (RIGHT TO INFORMATION ACT) OF 2005
The Right to Information Act (RTI) is an Act of the Parliament of India "to provide for setting out the practical regime of right to information for citizens."
Right To Information Act 2005 Empowers Every Citizen To :
? Ask any questions from the Government or seek any information ? Take copies of any government documents ? Inspect any government documents ? Inspect any Government works ? Take samples of materials of any Government work
? Came into force on 12th October, 2005. ? Covers all of India except Jammu & Kashmir
? Covers offices owned, established, or financed by the Central, State Govts. and the Union Territories ? Any public authority or NGOs owned, controlled or substantially financed by the government directly or indirectly
? PIOs must be designated in every govt. office and is responsible to accept the request from the public and provide the information within 30 days of their request ? A minimum fee is charged from the public
? If the information is not provided, an appeal can be made to the appellate authority. If the first appeal is not replied, then the second appeal can be made to the Information Commission.
OUTSOURCING PUBLIC RELATIONS • Public Relations is “the deliberate, planned and sustained effort to establish and maintain mutual understanding between on organization and its publics.” • Outsourcing is a term which means to give out a part of the functions of an organisation to a third party.
