Productivity is an important factor for any organization at the micro level & for the nation at the macro level. Higher the productivity level more will be the profit. At the micro level Productivity is the ratio between output of finished goods & service and input of resources utilized in the production process.
At the macro-level it depicts the overall performance of an economy or a nation.

Productivity = Output / Input

Definition

“The ratio between volume of output as measured by the production indices and the corresponding volume of labour input as measured by production indices & corresponding volume of labour input as measured by employment indices”


Factors influencing Productivity

Human factors
Job Maturity
Means they should know their job quite well, having expertise in their own field.

Psychological Maturity
It is related to readiness to do the job. If the individuals are interested to do the job, the productivity level will be higher. It is related to motivation

Non-human Factors

Plant location, capacity and plant layout

Production Planning & control

Material handling

Inventory control

Higher the SQ, higher the productivity level. It is one of the emerging techniques. SQ is the capability to behave with compassion and wisdom with everyone. SQ emphasizes to maintain inner and outer peace under any situation .

There is strength in peace. There is strength in calmness. There is strength in love…. but it goes unnoticed. What you cannot win with a gun, you can win through love. This power of love needs to be realized. It is indeed the most powerful thing in the world.
